Chapters on Wheelz

I approached Beast by Anna Hackett with a mix of excitement and curiosity. As someone familiar with her Galactic Gladiators series, I had a sense of what I was in for—action, romance, and a hearty dose of alien adventure. Still, I couldn’t help but wonder how Hackett would balance the darker, more primal aspects of the title character with the romance and camaraderie I’ve come to expect. To my delight, Beast delivered on all fronts, offering a fast-paced, tension-filled narrative without straying too far into the familiar. In fact, the book surprised me by showing that while Hackett’s signature style remains intact, Beast dives deeper into the gritty, raw emotions of survival, loyalty, and love.
