Like people, this space will naturally grow and evolve over time alongside my interests, experiences and the things inspiring me in the moment. Hiya Lilly!
First of all, many congratulations on this brilliant achievement! You’ve shown yourself as a person of strength, determination, selflessness, thought-provoking and intellect without boundaries. You should be very proud, not only of what you have achieved, created and strive for, but also for the very person that you are. I take my hat off to you….if I wore one!!!!!!!
May you continue to strive for your goals, to be recognised way beyond your physical labels and long may you continue to show the rest of the ‘able-bodied’ world that there is far more to a person than any disability or label.
I only hope that; in some small way; I encourage, nurture and support David to realise his full potential and to always feel pride in his achievements.
And that brings me nicely onto a suggestion!! How about doing an article on the achievements of other people with disabilities, their hopes, goals and dreams and look at how ‘able-bodied’ people view and value those achievements and how they would give credit to such individuals and achievements in today’s world?!! Maybe compare such responses from those who work in the care and support sector, to those who don’t, such as professionals, ordinary people and politically-minded people?!
