Well, firstly let’s start with SoundLab Play Space – what a crazy day it was! From 12-8pm we were running on a very, very tight schedule. SoundLab Play Space took place at the Nesta building in London. It was a day where people could try out different equipment to make them realise how music-making can be put simply and made easy for everyone.

I was hosting the ‘Debating Zone’ with Justin Spooner. It was where people could come and talk about what they’d found out and what they are doing to make music more accessible. I really enjoyed finding out what other people were doing, it was very nice to see some familiar faces!

It wasn’t until half way through the first session that people from Nesta were trying to have a serious meeting in the middle of all that bleeping noise. Just when I thought things were chilling out at 6pm, we shipped one lot out and moved one lot in for another session – and the craziness started all over again!

Cambridge –  thank god Heart n Soul have realised that they need to get us open train tickets, as we missed the first train – like I always do, thanks to late taxis!

SoundLab was taking part in the Serious Play event. We were talking about what SoundLab does and we had planned to do a live demonstration. However, after reading the email properly on the train we realised we only had 10-12 minutes to do the whole thing! Our slot was after lunch and luckily for us people were running late anyway, so when it came to us we said about our live demonstration and the timekeeper said he didn’t care how long we had left as we were making everyone laugh!

But as it always does, SoundLab went off with a bang, even though we had to use delaying tactics slightly !
