I’ve just finished the Prison Diary Series and I was shocked within the first five minutes.

There are a number of things that really stood out for me whilst listening to these books.

  1. If you get a job whilst you’re a prison inmate £8 a week

2 if you’re in a D category prison (an open prison) and are proven to be a model prisoner you can get a paid job outside the prison where you are able to earn £200 a week. Only after doing 8 weeks of voluntary work with no incident.
However, if you break any of the prison rules you are immediately stripped of any previous privileges and transferred to a B category prison.

I found out the facts from the books they may differ slightly

Disclaimer Jeffery Archer was a VIP prisoner and is an amazing author that made it sound like he had an okay time in prison, to any young people reading this it is NOT a good experience to be a prisoner no matter how exciting he made it sound. I promise you

I will say that as much as I did thoroughly enjoy the three books as a whole I wish that their had been a more detailed outlook on how return to society and if he faced any struggles or readapting in his day to day life but alas we know only what we know.
