No regrets, Martina Cole and Jackie rose
⭐ My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Hello, fellow book lovers, and welcome back to Chapters on Wheelz! ❤️📚
Today, I’m talking about No Regret by Martina Cole and Jacqui Rose, and I have to say, I really enjoyed this one!
I finished listening to it on 30 October 2026, and it was another five-star read for me. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ll already know how much I love Martina Cole. Whenever she has a new book out, I want to read it. I can’t help myself! She’s one of those authors whose books I automatically want to add to my reading list.
So, let’s get into what I thought of No Regret — without giving away any spoilers!
⚠️ Trigger Warnings
Before reading No Regret, please be aware that the story contains references to rape, abortion and other potentially distressing themes.
Although these subjects aren’t necessarily the main focus of the story, they are heavily woven throughout the narrative.
Please bear this in mind if these topics are sensitive for you. ❤️
📖 Welcome to London in 1962
Set in Soho, London, in 1962, No Regret takes us into a world of crime, dangerous relationships, rival gangs and people who aren’t always what they seem.
At the centre of the story is Maggie Riley, whose life becomes caught up with the dangerous Rory Sheehan. Rory is a man who is used to getting what he wants, and when he sets his sights on Maggie, the stage is set for a story filled with tension and uncertainty.
With rivalries between gangs, complicated loyalties and secrets waiting to come to light, there’s plenty to draw readers into this gritty world.
What I particularly like about this setting is the opportunity to step back into another time and experience a different side of London. Soho in the 1960s provides the backdrop for a story where power, reputation and who you know can make all the difference.
This isn’t a story where everything is straightforward. There are complicated people, difficult situations and relationships that keep you wondering how things will turn out.
I’m not going to reveal any more of the plot because I want you to discover it for yourself!
❤️ Maggie Riley: At the Heart of the Story
Maggie Riley is at the centre of No Regret, and her story is one of the reasons the book caught my attention.
When you’re reading a story involving dangerous people and complicated relationships, you can’t help wondering what the future holds for the characters. You want to know how they’re going to deal with the situations they’re facing and what choices they’ll make along the way.
Maggie’s story unfolds against the backdrop of a world where not everyone can be trusted, and the stakes are high.
I think one of the things that makes a book like this enjoyable is getting to follow the characters without knowing exactly where their journeys will take them. You can make your own judgements as you go, and sometimes the story takes you in directions you weren’t expecting.
I’ll leave it there because I don’t want to spoil anything!
🔥 Why I Enjoy Martina Cole’s Books
If there’s one thing you need to know about me as a reader, it’s that I absolutely love Martina Cole!
The minute she has a new book out, I want to read it. It’s as simple as that!
I love gritty crime fiction, complicated relationships and stories that explore the darker side of human nature. I’m always interested in characters who have their own motivations, secrets and reasons for doing the things they do.
Martina Cole’s books are exactly the kind of crime fiction I enjoy returning to. There’s something about stepping into a story full of drama and seeing how the different characters’ lives connect that keeps me interested.
And when you’ve found an author whose books you consistently look forward to, you don’t need much persuading to pick up another one.
That’s certainly how I feel about Martina Cole. ❤️
🎧 Listening to No Regret
I listened to No Regret as an audiobook and started it on 29 October, finishing it on 30 October 2026.
I always enjoy adding another completed audiobook to my reading journey, and it was lovely to finish this one and have another book to talk about here on Chapters on Wheelz.
Audiobooks are such an important part of how I enjoy reading, and I love being able to get absorbed in a story while listening.
There’s also something satisfying about reaching the end of a book, thinking back over the experience and deciding how you feel about it.
With No Regret, my verdict was an easy one: five stars!
⭐ My Final Verdict: Did I Enjoy No Regret?
Absolutely! I gave No Regret five stars out of five. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoyed this book, and it was another reminder of why Martina Cole is an author I always want to read.
The London setting, the crime-fiction atmosphere and Maggie Riley’s place at the centre of the story all help make this an appealing choice for readers who enjoy gritty crime novels.
I also love that I can finish a book and have plenty to think about afterwards. That’s part of the fun of reading for me: getting invested in a story, forming opinions about the characters and having the chance to share those thoughts with other readers.
Would I recommend it? Yes! If you enjoy crime fiction and stories involving dangerous relationships, rivalries and secrets, No Regret is worth looking into.
And if you’re already a Martina Cole fan, you’ll understand why I was so keen to read this one!
I’m deliberately keeping this review spoiler-free because I don’t want to take away any of the discoveries waiting for you in the story. Sometimes a few details are enough to make you curious, and the rest is best experienced for yourself.
