I’ve been learning how to use the tiniest, most professional camera that’s on the market right now. To be honest it’s quite easy. I wasn’t expecting it to be as easy as it was. It’s literally just two buttons. That’s it! The only thing I’m yet to master is keeping it steady and getting a good flow – but that will come the more I use it.

Since then I’ve come up with ingenious ways of keeping it steady. Basically, I use household items and furniture to keep it steady, like a stool or a tea tray!

I liked the fact that it’s so simple.And that anyone can pick it up, and point and shoot. I like the way that it’s small enough that you can do, let’s just say sneaky little reports so that people don’t know you’re recording – it catches people in the act! But just so you don’t kill me, or if you’re a policeman, that was a joke!

It’s quite good that there’s a couple of attachments – I haven’t quite mastered them yet! But they attach to whatever you’re using, so if I’m using my wheelchair when recording it could attach to the armrest to keep it steady. But I am still yet to master the other attachments – there’s loads on the market.

I’m not allowed to show you the video I made because I used a backing track by Bruno Mars, which Youtube wasn’t happy about! It’s annoying because I know plenty of people that have uploaded music to Youtube! I won’t name names but you know who you are! It was a simple set up, just me recording my friend dancing, but we broke the rules and it was removed. And I was even more disappointed because I’d been able to edit on the beat! Go Pro still

My friend Shalim was the star of the video. He was quite a good dancer! We filmed it in the office building of where I work – in the hallway and in the garden. The two locations enabled me to edit on the beat! My favourite! Doing it to Uptown Funk wasn’t easy though, because it’s a fast song so the changes can give you a bit of a headache.

Headache aside, I had fun working on it; even the important, serious stuff. As much as I call myself a serious blogger (seriously fun!), I will do something silly or make a silly video of someone making a fool of themselves – myself included – because it’s funny and entertaining. Even if I do serious stuff, I like to put my sense of humour into it because I like to try to put a light-hearted edge on issues; even those that are important to me.

My next Go Pro project will be a Heart n Soul Squidz Club video with a guy called Simon. They want me to use the Go Pro and interview people at the event. So that will be interesting – I’ll be able to be camera operator and interviewer all at once! A proper multimedia journalist. This is where the tea tray will come in handy!

My professional judgement is that the Go Pro is a really cool gadget. It’s great for disabled people that there’s technology like this that’s so accessible. What I want to do is get to use gadgets like the Go Pro and use them for photography, video, or whatever you want. Don’t be put off by thinking they’ll be complicated.

It’s really important that technology like this is made as simple as possible in terms of accessibility, and I do think the world is going down the route of becoming more accessible. Unfortunately you can’t see video proof of how easy it is to use the Go Pro (thanks a lot Youtube!). But pirate copies are available for £2!
