What could you let go of, for the sake of harmony?
”What I’m Letting Go Of to Keep the Peace (and My Sanity)

Ever just know you’re right in an argument but decide to let it go anyway? Not because you’ve suddenly become Mother Teresa… but because you value peace, snacks, and uninterrupted telly more than proving a point? Yeah—that’s me now. I’m in my “I could, but I won’t” era.
Let’s be real: I used to hold on to things like they were designer handbags. Grudges, old screenshots, petty receipts… if there was a grumble to be had, I’d hang onto it like it was made of gold.
But here’s the plot twist: harmony is way more fun than being right (and a lot quieter too).
So what am I letting go of?
The need to win every argument Yes, Karen, I know it was Tuesday, not Wednesday. But if calling it Wednesday brings you inner peace and gets me out of this conversation quicker—I’ll allow it. Passive-aggressive sighing I’ve retired it. Now I just aggressively snack instead. A biscuit in the mouth is worth two grudges in the heart. Holding on to ‘should have saids’ You know, the perfect clapback that hits you 3 hours after the moment’s passed. I used to replay it like a dramatic soap opera. Now? Meh. I let it go and imagine myself saying it in my Oscar speech. Overthinking every awkward interaction Did I wave too enthusiastically? Was that joke weird? Probably. But they’ve forgotten. I’ve moved on. (Okay maybe I haven’t, but I pretend I have and that’s what counts.)
Sometimes the best way to keep the peace isn’t through deep breathing or yoga (though both are great)—it’s just by learning when to shrug and say:
“Not today, chaos. I’ve got snacks and shows to enjoy.”
So if you see me walking away mid-drama with a cuppa in hand and a smug little grin, just know:
I’m choosing harmony.
And biscuits.
