What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?

Let’s talk about sleep—or the chaotic ballet I like to call “The Great Bed Battle.” Because for me, getting up and going to bed isn’t just a routine… it’s an event. A saga. A full-blown production with dramatic sighs, sleepy negotiations, and at least three internal monologues that sound like a Shakespearean soliloquy.

Let’s start with mornings.

My alarm goes off at what I like to call the “Are You Kidding Me?” hour. I’m usually up around 7:30 AM, and by “up,” I mean I’ve opened one eye and started mentally debating the life choices that led to this moment.

There’s a hot second where I try to convince myself I could go back to sleep for “just five more minutes.” But let’s be real—five minutes turns into fifteen, then into me scrambling like a gremlin to catch up with the day.

Eventually, I do the full-body stretch like I’m starring in a yoga commercial, throw off the covers like I’m Beyoncé in a music video, and ta-da!—I’m up (and hopefully remembered to put the kettle on).

Evenings, though? That’s where the real comedy kicks in.

You’d think someone who’s tired from adulting all day would leap into bed with joy. Not me. Nope. I treat bedtime like it’s a weird challenge. I start yawning around 9:00 PM… and do I go to bed? Absolutely not.

Instead, I begin the sacred ritual known as “Just One More Episode” or “Let’s Scroll Until My Eyes Hurt.” Somehow, I’m wide awake at 10:30 PM solving the world’s problems from under my duvet while convincing myself that 6 hours of sleep is “probably enough.”

By 11:30 PM, I finally start the actual wind-down: lights off, phone down (maybe), and I pretend I didn’t just spend the last hour watching a video about how to make soup from scratch—even though I don’t even like soup.

And by midnight? I’m finally in bed, whispering to myself, “Tomorrow, I’ll go to bed earlier.”

Spoiler alert: I won’t.

So there you have it.

I rise like a confused biscuit at 7:30 AM, and I flop into bed around midnight after battling myself and the entire internet. Some call it unbalanced—I call it character development.

What time do you go to bed and get up? Are you a sensible sleeper or a midnight scroller like me?

A split-screen cartoon image—on the left, a groggy person tangled in blankets with a coffee/tea mug that says “Help”; on the right, the same person wide-eyed under the covers at midnight with glowing phone light and a speech bubble that says, “Just one more TikTok.”
