Right… my goodness. I’ve officially finished Emily Wilde book three and I’m not even pretending to be calm about it — FIVE STARS all the way. No overthinking. No complicated breakdown. Just pure “I loved every minute” energy.
If you’ve followed Emily from slightly awkward academic with a notebook obsession to someone navigating faerie courts, dangerous magic, and a very dramatic fae king, this final book feels like the reward we’ve all been waiting for.
📚 THE STORY (NO SPOILERS)
This time we’re fully in Faerie, and the stakes feel bigger from the very first page. There’s politics, old enemies, magical chaos, and so many moments where I just sat there thinking, “Emily… what have you got yourself into now?” But she’s still brilliantly herself — clever, blunt, socially awkward in the best way, and unintentionally funny.
✨ THE CHARACTERS — MY HEART
Emily’s growth across the series really shines here. She feels stronger and more confident without losing what makes her relatable.
And Wendell? Still charming, still dramatic, still the definition of chaos with perfect hair. Their dynamic feels softer and more settled, and honestly the emotional moments landed perfectly for me.
🌿 THE WORLD BUILDING
Faerie feels richer, stranger, and more magical than ever. I loved how the academic journal style still gives cosy vibes while everything around Emily gets bigger and more dangerous. It’s whimsical but with that slightly dark edge that makes this series so addictive.
💫 WHY THIS WAS FIVE STARS FOR ME
• Emotional moments that actually hit
• Perfect balance of cosy and high-stakes
• Emily’s voice stayed true from book one
• A satisfying ending that didn’t feel rushed
📖 FINAL THOUGHTS
If book one was discovery and book two was adventure, then book three is belonging.
I closed the last page with that quiet little smile because it ended exactly right.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Five stars. No hesitation. Trust me.
