Right, I’m just going to say it straight away — this is officially the best series I’ve read so far in 2026. Five stars all the way, no hesitation, no “maybe a 4.5 if I’m picky.” Nope. Full marks. Absolute obsession.
From book one, this trilogy grabbed me by the collar and refused to let go. You know when you think you know where the story is heading, and then suddenly the author pulls the rug out from under you? That happens here… a lot. The twists and turns genuinely kept me guessing, and I loved that nothing felt predictable or safe.
What really worked for me was the atmosphere. The world feels dark, rich, and a little bit dangerous without being confusing. I never felt lost — just completely pulled into this moody, slightly addictive vibe where every chapter felt like it mattered. The pacing is chef’s kiss too. No dragging, no filler, just constant movement that makes you say “okay, one more chapter” about fifteen times in a row.
And the characters? Messy, layered, and honestly a bit chaotic — exactly how I like them. Nobody feels flat. Everyone has secrets, and watching those layers peel back across the trilogy was half the fun. I got attached way faster than I expected, which made the emotional moments hit harder than I was ready for.
I also have to mention the way the story builds across the three books. Each instalment raises the stakes without losing what made the beginning so gripping. Sometimes trilogies peak early and fade out… this one does the opposite. It grows, deepens, and somehow keeps surprising you right to the end.
My reading experience in a nutshell:
⭐ I gasped.
⭐ I side-eyed the plot like “excuse me?!”
⭐ I absolutely refused to go to sleep at a reasonable time.
If you love a series that keeps you on your toes, delivers real emotional punches, and throws in twist after twist without feeling messy — this is it.
Final thoughts:
Five stars. No regrets. Zero chill about how much I loved it. If this is the standard for my 2026 reading year, I’m going to need snacks and emotional support.
Have you read it yet? Because I need people to scream about these plot twists with. 👀
