I have officially finished Broken Dove on Audible and WOW. I genuinely do not know how I’m supposed to move on from this book.

This sequel somehow managed to be even more emotional, intense, and addictive than Silver Elite. From the very beginning, the story throws you straight back into the chaos of the Continent, but this time everything feels darker, more dangerous, and far more personal. The stakes are higher in every possible way — politically, emotionally, and romantically.

What I loved most about this book was how layered it felt. It isn’t just a dystopian romance. Yes, the chemistry is incredible and the tension is absolutely unbearable in the best way, but underneath that there’s also betrayal, loyalty, identity, grief, survival, and the constant question of who you can actually trust. Every relationship feels complicated and emotionally messy in a way that feels real. Nobody is completely safe emotionally in this book — including the reader.

Wren continues to be one of my favourite female protagonists because she’s strong without pretending she’s fearless. She’s constantly being pulled in different directions emotionally while also carrying the weight of an entire war on her shoulders. Watching her try to figure out who she is, what she believes in, and who deserves her trust was honestly one of the strongest parts of the story for me.

And then there’s the romance… Dani Francis really knows how to write emotional tension. The connections between the characters feel intense, raw, and sometimes painful to read because you care so much. There are moments in this book where the longing, frustration, and heartbreak practically jump off the page. I spent half the audiobook stressed and the other half emotionally attached to everybody.

The world-building also becomes so much bigger in Broken Dove. We learn more about the rebellion, the politics, the history of the Mods and Primes, and the deeper consequences of the war itself.

It never feels like information overload though because everything is tied so closely to the characters and their choices.

The Audible narration deserves its own mention because it made every emotional moment hit even harder. The performances captured the fear, tension, sarcasm, heartbreak, and chemistry perfectly. Some scenes genuinely felt cinematic listening to them.

What makes this book stand out for me is that it constantly keeps you emotionally off balance. Just when you think you understand somebody, another layer gets revealed. Just when things feel hopeful, something changes. It has twists, emotional punches, and enough tension to make you want to immediately start the next book…

Which is exactly why I NEED there to be a third book.

Because in my opinion, this story does not feel finished yet. There are still emotional threads, character arcs, and unanswered questions that deserve more time. The world feels too rich and the characters feel too important for this to be the end.

My dream title for book three would honestly be:

✨ Shattered Crown ✨

Because after everything these characters have survived, I need to see what comes next when the dust finally settles.

Overall, Broken Dove was emotional, addictive, brutal, romantic, and impossible to stop listening to. If you loved Silver Elite, this sequel delivers everything you hoped for while making the story even bigger and more devastating.
