Book: Caught Up
Author: Navessa Allen
Format: Audiobook
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Every now and then, a book comes along that completely derails your plans.

You tell yourself you’ll listen for an hour, maybe two chapters, and then get on with the rest of your day. The next thing you know, you’re finding excuses to keep listening because you absolutely have to know what happens next.

That was Caught Up for me.

After loving Lights Out, I was excited to dive back into Navessa Allen’s writing, but I still wasn’t prepared for how quickly this audiobook would pull me in. From the very beginning, I was invested. The characters had my attention, the chemistry was addictive, and the story kept me reaching for my headphones whenever I had a spare moment.

One of my favourite things about this book was how easy it was to get lost in. Some books take a while to find their rhythm, but Caught Up grabbed me from the start and never really let go. It had the perfect balance of tension, emotion, and those moments that leave you thinking, “Just one more chapter.”

Of course, no review from me would be complete without mentioning the audiobook experience. As an audiobook listener first and foremost, narration can make or break a story. Thankfully, this was one of those audiobooks where everything came together beautifully, making it incredibly easy to stay immersed in the world and the characters.

What surprised me most was how difficult it was to choose between this and Lights Out. Going into the book, I assumed I’d have a clear favourite by the end. Instead, I’ve finished Caught Up feeling like the two books are tied. They each brought something different to the table, but both delivered an equally enjoyable reading experience.

If you’re a fan of dark romance and enjoy stories that keep you hooked from beginning to end, I’d definitely recommend giving Caught Up a try.

For me, this was an easy five-star listen.
