Some books completely pull you into their world, and The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley was one of those books for me. 📚✨

I’ve seen this series talked about so much, so I was really excited to finally pick up the first book and see what it was all about. And honestly, I can now see exactly why it has become such a loved series.

What I really enjoyed about this book is that it gives you mystery, family, history, romance and plenty of questions without making you feel like you need to know everything straight away.

There’s a real sense that there is a much bigger story sitting underneath everything, and I loved slowly getting drawn into it.

📖 A story full of mystery

At the centre of The Seven Sisters are seven sisters who have been brought up together, each with their own personality and their own life.

The premise itself immediately caught my attention because there is so much mystery surrounding their family and their individual backgrounds.

I don’t want to say too much more than that because I genuinely think this is a book you should go into knowing as little as possible.

There are things to discover along the way, and I wouldn’t want to take that experience away from anyone who hasn’t read it yet.

So, for once, I’m keeping my mouth shut. 😂

🌍 I loved the atmosphere

One of my favourite things about Lucinda Riley’s writing is how easily she makes a story feel like somewhere you can escape into.

The Seven Sisters has that feeling.

The combination of the different settings, the historical elements and the family story gave the book a really rich atmosphere, and I found myself getting completely absorbed in it.

It’s the kind of book where you can settle down with it and suddenly realise you’ve been reading for much longer than you intended. 😂📖

And we all know that’s usually a very good sign.

👭 The sisters

I also really liked the idea of having seven sisters at the heart of one huge story.

Even though this book focuses on one particular sister, you’re constantly aware that there are other stories waiting to be told.

That was one of the things that made me so excited to continue the series.

Because once you’ve finished the first book, you know you’ve only just started getting to know this family.

And I definitely want to know more.

💭 My favourite part

For me, it was the combination of mystery and emotion.

I love books where there are questions that make you want to keep reading, but where you also become invested in the people at the centre of the story.

There were moments where I was completely absorbed in what I was reading, and I really enjoyed the way the story gradually unfolded.

I also liked the way the historical side of the book was brought into the story. It added another layer and made the book feel much more than a straightforward family story.

⭐ Would I recommend it?

Yes, I would.

If you enjoy family sagas, historical fiction, romance, mystery and stories that move between different periods of time, I think The Seven Sisters is definitely one to add to your reading list.

It has that perfect “just one more chapter” quality, and I can already tell that this is going to be one of those series where I’m going to become attached to the characters and want to know everyone’s story.

I also think it’s a great example of what I want from the first book in a series.

It gives you enough to become invested, but leaves you wanting to discover more.

And after finishing it, that’s exactly how I felt.

I want more. 😂💕

💕 Final thoughts

Overall, I really enjoyed The Seven Sisters.

It was atmospheric, emotional, intriguing and completely different from some of the books I’ve been reading recently, which made it feel like a really nice change.

I loved the family element, the mystery, the historical side and, most importantly, the feeling that there is a much bigger story still waiting to unfold.

I’m definitely continuing with the series, because after meeting the seven sisters, I need to know where this whole journey is going to take me. 📚✨

And that’s probably the best compliment I can give a first book in a series.

It made me want to immediately pick up the next one. 💕
