⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I don’t even know where to start with this one.
The Tenant is one of those books where every time you think you’ve finally worked out what’s going on, another twist comes along and proves you wrong. I went into this expecting a fast-paced psychological thriller, but I wasn’t prepared for just how many times this book would pull the rug out from under me.
From the very beginning, I was hooked. The chapters are short, the pacing is relentless, and it’s incredibly easy to fall into the “just one more chapter” trap. Before I knew it, I was flying through the audiobook and trying to piece together what was really happening.
The thing I enjoyed most was that I never felt completely comfortable with my theories. Every time I started to trust a character or convince myself I knew where the story was heading, something happened that made me question everything all over again.
By the time I reached the final section, I was fully invested and desperately trying to figure out how everything would come together.
I failed.
Completely.
The ending left me genuinely shell-shocked. Not because it came out of nowhere, but because I spent the entire book trying to stay one step ahead and never quite managed it.
Was every twist believable? Maybe not. If you stop and analyse every detail, you can probably find things to question. But honestly, that wasn’t why I was reading this book.
I read thrillers to be entertained, surprised, and kept guessing, and The Tenant delivered all three.
What really stood out was how easy it was to listen to. Freida McFadden has a way of writing that makes her books incredibly addictive. The chapters fly by, the story constantly moves forward, and there’s always a reason to keep listening.
It’s the kind of book that makes you say you’ll stop at the end of the chapter and then somehow find yourself three chapters later.
My Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a thriller packed with twists, unreliable characters, and plenty of surprises, I’d definitely recommend giving The Tenant a try.
This was a fast, addictive listen that kept me entertained from beginning to end, and the fact that I finished it immediately wanting another Freida McFadden book probably says everything you need to know.
Final Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A twist-filled thriller that left me completely shell-shocked and immediately reaching for another Freida McFadden book.
