Why Did I Wait So Long to Read Flawless by Elsie Silver? (⭐⭐⭐⭐☆)

Sometimes a book comes along at exactly the right time, and for me, Flawless was one of those books.

After spending so much time reading fantasy and mystery novels, it was refreshing to pick up a contemporary romance that was easy to follow, engaging, and simply fun to listen to. I went into this audiobook looking for a change of pace, and it ended up being exactly what I needed.

Flawless is the first book in the Chestnut Springs series by Elsie Silver and follows a small-town cowboy romance that quickly pulled me in. One of the things I loved most about this story was how easy it was to get lost in. There wasn’t any complicated world-building to keep track of or a huge cast of characters to remember. Instead, I could settle into the story and enjoy the journey.

The chemistry between the main characters kept me invested from start to finish, and their banter had me smiling throughout the book. It was one of those stories where I kept telling myself “just one more chapter” and before I knew it, I had listened to most of the audiobook in a single day.

As an audiobook listener, the narration is always important to me, and I’m happy to say this one delivered. The narrators brought the characters to life and made the emotional moments, humour, and chemistry feel even more enjoyable. It was also incredibly easy to listen to while getting on with everyday tasks, which made it a perfect audiobook choice.

If you enjoy small-town romances, cowboy romances, character-driven stories, and plenty of chemistry, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy this one. It’s also a great choice if you’re looking for a break between heavier fantasy, thriller, or mystery reads.

While Flawless may not be the most complex book I’ve ever read, that’s actually part of its charm. Sometimes you don’t need a book to be complicated—you just need it to entertain you, make you smile, and leave you wanting more.

Overall, Flawless was a fun, addictive, and thoroughly enjoyable read. I’ll definitely be continuing the Chestnut Springs series, and I’m already looking forward to picking up Heartless.
